Camden Community Nurseries is a not-for-profit charity that runs 3 nurseries in the Borough of
Camden for children ranging from three months to five years. CCN is run by a Board of Trustees who are mostly parents of the children that attend our Nurseries. We strive to provide the very best for
our staff and the children who attend our Nurseries.
All our Nurseries have a GOOD rating from Ofsted.
The Nurseries are open 50 weeks of the year from 8am – 6pm during the weekdays only.
At CCN staff work 35 hours per week. That is 7 hours per day with a 1-hour lunch break. We are
committed to supporting our staff and also offer flexible contracts for 15 – 40 hours per week.
- Annual Leave – All employees are entitled to a total of 28 days holiday.
- 12 days holiday plus 8 days when the Nurseries are closed during Christmas/New Years and the last
week of August plus 8 days bank holidays. - You will have an additional day off for your Birthday for Permeant staff and 7 paid hours for
Casual Staff members. - For Permanent staff, after 2 years of service you are entitled to an additional 1 day of holiday.
This will be added each year up to 31 days in total holiday entitlement. - Any overtime worked will be paid back as Time in Lieu.
- Pay and Pensions – CCN will match your contribution up to 5%. That means if you pay 5%
we will pay 5% so your monthly Pension total is 10%. - Staff are paid monthly and before our Christmas and our August holidays.
- Childcare – We give our staff a 50% discount on childcare fees on our lowest fee band with
no deposit or registration fee. - Training & Professional development – You will attend a minimum of 3 CCN Training days per year and have additional training based on your interest and professional developmental needs.
- CCN will you to complete your Level 2/3 in Childcare You will have a CCN Learning Mentor that will assist you with your studies and when you complete your Level 2 qualification you will receive a £200 bonus and Level 3 £300!
- Your DBS and any additional trainings are paid for by CCN.

internally, giving you the opportunity to progress your career if you wish. - Buy a Bike – We are members of the Cycle Scheme. This is an employee benefit that saves
you 25%-39% on a bike and accessories. You pay nothing upfront and the payments are
taken tax efficiently from your salary by your employer. - Meals – You are welcome to have a delicious, cooked lunch at the Nursery each day and
toast and cereal with the children if you are on the early shift. We provide tea and coffee and

Cinema club for discounted tickets and food at Vue, Odeon and Picturehouse. - Well-being – You can access a confidential Counselling assistance helpline which can help you to deal with matters that are causing stress and anxiety in a positive way.

Camden Community Nurseries (CCN) is a charity that provides affordable early years childcare to working parents and carers in Camden and neighbouring boroughs. We run three nurseries – Acol, Sington are located in West Hampstead and Montpelier in Kentish Town. There is a small central staff team, led by the Senior manager and comprising of a Finance manager and an Administrator. They are supported by an external consultant who provides strategic and operational advice as needed. Each nursery is unique and has its own Management team, Early Years Educators a Cook and cleaner.
The Board of Trustees comprises of working parents, most of whom have children attending one of our Nurseries or have had in the past. Each Trustee brings their own professional knowledge and skills as well as their understanding the needs of staff and parents.
