Montpelier operates in an eco-building, designed specifically for local children by former Montpelier parents. This award-winning building and its landscaped garden provide care for children aged 2 to 5.

Montpelier is open from 8am till 6pm, 50 weeks of the year.

Montpelier nursery is very fortunate to be situated in a beautiful space in Montpelier Gardens which has a wonderful outdoor space that we make the most of all year round.  It is the perfect setting to be able to provide a range of outdoor experiences including messy play with the mud kitchen, bikes and trikes, obstacle courses and learning through nature.

The brilliant teaching team creates a sense of belonging and all children feel included, secure and valued making Montpelier a unique home-like environment.

A love of sensory play and creative activities are at the centre of the nursery curriculum as well as promoting independence. The curriculum also now incorporates weekly Forest school sessions along with encouraging the children to take part in gardening activities, growing vegetables and learning about the fruit trees around the garden.  We aim to help the children to understand where their food comes from and to respect the natural environment.

In an effort to make our provision more sustainable we get as many of our resources as possible from the Children’s Scrap Project in Hackney, using materials that would otherwise end up in landfill sites.  The children are also free to select their own activities and have daily story telling sessions. 

The children go out on frequent trips in the local area to the library, park and garden centre.  They also recently visited the Canal Museum and Freightliners Farm. 

Breakfast, freshly cooked meals and healthy snacks are provided daily. Parents are welcome to come into the nursery and do activities with the children and are given feedback about their child’s day when they come to collect them.
