Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners using the natural environment as the third educator.
The Montpelier and Sington teams spent the November CCN staff training day with John Blaney who introduced the concept of Forest Schools to the UK, establishing the UK’s first Forest School with his team at Bridgwater College in 1993. John continues to teach the Forest School concept to inspire a love for learning in the outdoors.
Both Nurseries will be incorporating Forest School sessions into their planning and curriculum.

Getting children to help gives them a hands-on way for them to discover new flavors and new foods, but did you also know that helping can boost your children’s maths, language skills and even their emotional development.

Sports participation can help children develop social skills that will benefit them throughout their entire lives. They learn to interact not only with other children their age, but also with older individuals in their coaches and teachers. Kids learn leadership skills, team-building skills and communication skills that will help them in school, their future career and personal relationships.
